New Library

Sophie at the Franklin Road Library on the big tractor

This afternoon we met my mom at LePeeps for some lunch. We had a spinach salad and Soph had the grilled cheese and fruit. The food took forever to get there. This is not good when there is a toddler waiting and hungry. We took a little stroll outside down the sidewalk while my mom waited for the food. Not cool since I wanted to visit and actually talk. Oh well. Once the food arrives everyone was happy. On the way home Soph fell asleep. I was going over in my mind what else I had to do this day. By the time we got back home, Soph had just woken up. I took my time getting home figuring a 45 minute nap was better than being interrupted by getting out of the car to go up stairs. I drove around my old stomping grounds. Drove by the high school. I decided to check out the library on Franklin Rd. It was awesome. It isn't gigantic, but it is very kid friendly, They have so many toys and kid computer areas. There is a room with big red bard doors that is used for kids activities and story times. It was closed, so I didn't get to see the inside. The walls are decorated with a barnyard theme, complete with giant cows, scare crows and horses. There is a little pond outside that you can see ducks and birds from a big window with cushy seats for kids to sit or stand on to look out. We saw a duck family and what we thought was a beaver or something fuzzy swimming. Another mom saw it and we just stood there staring trying to figure out what this guy was. Toot liked seeing the ducks take off and land. There is also a little puppet theater and a bunch of different puppets on this coat rack type thing with a bunch of pegs on it. There was a huge Lego table and so many puzzles. I was very impressed. We stayed there for over an hour. There was another little girl there, she was 4 showing Soph the ropes. She was a little bossy, but I guess she was trying. I could tell by the way she was hanging out with us she didn't have much of a home life. Her scruffy uncle brought her to the library. He seemed nice, but there is something different there. There are a couple activities for Sophs age group each week. A story type thing and another romp around thing. I will be sure to check it out. There is also a play date drop in like they had at the Carmel Library. Between this Gymboree and Z ville 5 week story time, she will definitely not be short on activities. The best part is....it is free! After that, we just went on ahead and came home.  It was like 5 minutes away. I made us some fish n sticks, mac n cheese and tots. We looked at her new books. I got a couple activity books for toddlers that I can make copies from that have color pages and other activities. Amy and Scott dropped by for a few. They were putting a name tag on my buzzer and were going to Target. It was a nice visit. We haven't really been able to visit much between moving and other issues. Since we are getting a little routine here, it should settle down a bit. My dad informed me he got the car seat he wanted for Soph.  That will be nice so I don't have to keep taking mine in and out whenever we go somewhere together.  He likes to drive. He comes over sometimes to watch Soph for a bit so I can run errands, so now they can just toodle around if they don't want to hang out at the house. It is helpful because I can actually go to the store without headaches and backaches and do my errands in a reasonable amount of time without having to stop 500 times. We watched some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse then off to bed.
